What is favicon and How to change or remove blogger favicon ?

Favicon is the "B" icon seen on most of the browser and on few browser it seen on left side of website title.

From different sources I got that the blogger are getting trouble to change his bloggers favicon(B icon in address bar) and tired with unsuccess codes. Here is the few simple tips to change the blogger favicon.

1. Design the icon in photoshop or any designing program and save it as png (ico file is preferred but its harder to upload). The preferred resolution is 16X16, you can also choose 20X20 for better quality.

2. Sign up for the photobucket or google page creator.

3. Upload the icon and then copy the given link of that icon.

4. Sign In your blogger account.

5. Go to Edit HTML under the Template tab in your blogger dashboard.

6. Find the following line(Ctrl + F):

<title><data:blog.pagetitle/></title>

7. Insert this code below it:

<link href='URL of your icon file' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/vnd.microsoft.icon'/>

(replace URL of your icon file with the link you've copied at Step 2(photobucket)).

8. Save the template.

Note: To see the changes in your icon close the all pages, delete the history and temporary files from your browser and reopen your page.
