Notepad:-
Notepad is a basic text editor where we can make a simple text document as well as it is used for creating web page and editing.
How to open the notepad?
v Click start button
v choose programs
v chose accessories
v Click on note pad
Or
Type “Notepad” in “run” and Click on ok.
Formatting text:-
Changing size, font style, font name is formatting text. We can format the text using format menu.
Wordwrap:-
It makes the text fit with notepad window i.e. when we write the text in notepad the line is automatically broken.
Font:-
Using this options we can change the size, font name, style of the text.
Process:-
a. Select the text.
b. Click on format menu.
c. Click on font.
d. Choose the any options.
e. Click on ok.
File menu:-
Using this we can save, save as, open, create new text document and arrange the page etc.
Save(ctrl+s):-
Use this option for save the file.
Process:-
1. click on file.
2. click on save.
3. choose the location.
4. write the name of file.
5. click on save.
Save as:-
Using this option we can save the existing file to the different name .
Process:-
a. click on file.
b. Click on save as.
c. Define the location.
d. Give the name of file.
Open(ctrl+o):-
It is used to open the old file in our opened program.
Process:-
a. Click on open.
b. Choose the file that you want to open.
c. Click on open.
New (ctrl+n):-
To create the new file we use this option.
Edit menu:-
Using this menu we can copy, paste, cut ,delete process as well as we can do the find and replace also.
Copy(ctrl+c):-
To create duplicate we use copy.
Process:-
a. select the text what you want to copy.
b. Click on edit menu .
c. Click on copy.
Or
Use short cut key(ctrl+c).
Paste(ctrl+v):-
It is done after copy or cut.
Process:-
a. go to edit menu.
b. Click on paste.
Or
Press ctrl+v
Cut(ctrl+x):-
To remove the text from one place to another.
a. select the text.
b. Click on edit.
c. Click on cut.
d. Click on paste in the new place.
Or
Use short cut ctrl+x and ctrl+v .
Delete:-
It is used to delete the text.
a. select the text.
b. Click on delete on edit or Press delete.
Find(ctrl+f):-
Using this we can easily find the searched text.
a. click on find.
b. Type the text what you are looking for.
c. Click on find next.
d. Choose up or down.
After finish the work click on cancel.
Replace:-
Using Replace we can replace the text instead of existing.
a. click on Replace.
b. Type the text for “find “ and “Replace with”.
c. Click on Replace for one by one replace and “Replace all” for replacing all.
How to save a document?
Sometime the document may necessary in the future for the different purpose. So we should save the current document which we can use at future whenever necessary.
Process:-
ü At first make the document
ü Then go to file menu
ü Then choose save option
ü Now choose any place to save that document eg: my document,
ü Then give the file name what do you want
ü At last click on save tab
How to open the saved document?
You can open the previously saved document at future whenever you want
Process:-
v Go to file menu
v Open that location where we have saved that document
v At last open the file where is your document
v Now you can see your saved document.
How to rename the folder?
· Right click on that folder
· Then chose rename option
· Now you can give the new folder name what do you want
How to delete the folder?
v Right click on the folder
v Then choose delete option
v Now click on yes
ü Note:
deleted folder will remain in the recycle bin so you can see that document after deleted also. But first you should restore that folder in previous place from recycle bin.
How to restore the deleted folder from recycle bin?
ü First open the recycle bin
ü Then right click on required folder
ü Then choose restore option
ü Now you can found that folder in previous place
How to save the already saved data on new place
· Open that document
· Go to file menu
· Then choose save as
· Now you can save that document where do you want.
