Desktop properties:-

We can customize the desktop using desktop properties i.e. change the desktop background, set the picture, arrange the icon etc.

Process:-

a. right click on desktop.

b. Click on any properties as you like.

Properties and popup menu list:-

Pop up menu list:-

The small window palate without close or min max button displayed by right click is pop up menu.

Arrange:-

It arranges the file or folders in the proper position when they are random position.

You can arrange file or folders by name, by size, by modified etc.

Auto arrange:-

If we check on it ,the desktop icons are automatically arranged.

Show desktop icon:-

If we check on it, the desktop icons are displayed otherwise the desktop icons are hidden.

Desktop properties:-

We can customize the desktop using the desktop properties.

When we click on desktop properties the “Display properties” Dialog box is opened ,there are following tab buttons:-

Theme:-

Theme is the set of color, icons and sounds that is used to personalize the computer.

There are following kinds of themes:-

A . Windos xp B.Windows classic

Process:-

a. choose the themes.

b. Click on apply and ok.

Background tab:-

Using this we can set the picture, color in the background. As well as set the picture’s position and customize the icons on the desktop.

Background:-

If you choose any picture it will set on the background and click on none,no background.

Position:-

You can arrange the pictures’ position from this box like center, stretch, title.

Color:-

From this box we can set the background color when there is not background picture.

Customize desktop:-

From this button we can show or hide the desktop’s default folders like my document, my computer, recycle bin etc.

Process:-

1. click on button” customize desktop”

2. check or uncheck and click ok.

3. click on apply button and ok.

Screen saver:-

It covers our screen and saves from unauthorized use of computer by some graphical style.

Types:-

3dboxes,3D pipes, bezers etc-for graphical style.

3 d text and marquee-for text writing.

Picture slideshow-for picture screen saver.

Using process:-

a. choose the screen saver.

b. Click on apply and ok.

Setting:-

Using this we can set the color, speed and style.

Preview:-

Using this we can view the screen saver directly.

Wait:-

If we set the time in minutes this will show the screen saver after the some minutes automatically.

Closing screen saver:-

Press any key or click on the screen saver.

Using 3d text:-

a. choose the 3 d text .

b. click on setting.

c. Set the font ,write down text in the text box.

d. Arrange the motion.

e. Choose the rotation etc.

f. Click on ok.

g. Click on preview.

Making picture slide show.

a. First keep the picture in my documents.

b. Click on “picture slide show”.

c. Click on preview.

Appearance:-

This tab is used to personalize the appearance of the windows, message box etc.

Process:-

a. choose the windows and buttons.

b. Choose any color scheme.

c. Choose fonts.

d. Click on apply and ok.
